“She was diagnosed at one month old, via genetic testing, and only given and expectancy of ‘6months to 4yrs, but expect it to be closer to 18months or less’–we were devastated.”

A message from Ada’s family in Sidney, Ohio, USA:

Ada’s only been with us 9months, but she’s a spunky little girl that brings a smile to the face of everyone she meets. Funny girl that she is, she’ll pretend to sleep to get out of therapies and doctor appointments — it’s hilarious!

Without words, too, she’s vocal and gets her point across! She was a surprise blessing, in more ways than one, and we hope always that a breakthrough is made in time for her.

She was diagnosed at one month old, via genetic testing, and only given and expectancy of “6mos to 4yrs, but expect it to be closer to 18mos or less”–we were devastated.

She is affected severely by the mutation and requires care as if she were a much younger infant, but she also inspires us with how tough she is. Every challenge, she has endured and even made some great strides in therapies.

We are proud to have her, our little “happy warrior”, Ada Sloane.
