Abby is a loving and determined two-year-old from Missouri, USA, who was diagnosed with KIF1A Associated Neurological Disorder in January 2019.
A Message from Abby’s Family:
Abby is our superhero and she always has a smile for us! She can make anyone’s day better with her cuddles, smiles and giggles. Our superhero was diagnosed with KIF1A Associated Neurological Disorder in January 2019, but we have been on this journey since she was 6 months old, visiting multiple specialists who have kept her very busy. She continues to surprise us every day as she works hard to do the things most people take for granted.
She is a hard worker and her determination shows when she is working with physical, occupational, and vision therapy to help her with her hypotonia (low muscle tone), speech, and vision challenges. She is currently working on sitting independently and has recently begun to feed herself finger foods. She loves to sit outside with her two big sisters and listen to country music (especially Luke Bryan and Baby Shark)! She is our fighter and we will continue to fight and advocate for her and all of the amazing superheroes in the KIF1A community.
Thank you to Team Abby for hosting and supporting Mighty Abby’s Trivia Night in September 2019, raising nearly $25,000 to advance KIF1A research!
